I know that you guys do not have all the opportunities to test all the trumpets/mouthpieces etc.. as we do in the US and other countries. I would like answers and in turn, if you have any questions regarding trumpet playing in the West, I would be happy to answer them. So, here goes:
1. Are there good trumpets available in RU/UA and how much do they cost? 2. How easy is it to get one? 3. Is being a professional player/teacher a good paying job? (In the US, the minimum charge for a 1/2 hr. lesson is $15) 4. Mouthpieces, can you get them and what kinds? Thanks! Some friends of mine buy trumpets only in America. Because it's more chipper than in Russia.
